Toyota Camry Troubleshooting Can Save You Time And Money.....
Ok, so you just got done buying a car with bad credit. Now what do I do it it starts breaking down on me? Here are some things to look for:
What do the brake warning lights mean in my car?
- Your emergency brake is on. Release it to solve the problem.
- You have lost brake pressure in half of the brake system.
- There could be a leak in one part of the system
- The hydraulic fluid could be low
What to do if my brakes squeaking?
- The metal rotor that the brake pads squeeze together can sometimes vibrate, causing a squeaking noise---Try a different brand of brake pad
- Use sandpaper to sand off surface hardening of the brake pad surface.
- Spray a solution on the back of the pads
The key won't turn in the ignition?
- this happens when the steering is locked by the ignition lock with the front wheels turned aside
- try turning the steering wheel left and right while gently jiggling the ignition key
- The key and the lock mechanism wear over time. Try using a spare key
The ‘check engine’ light does not come on?
- it's possible that there is no power coming to the engine computer
- that there is a problem with the engine computer itself.
The starter won't crank:
- The ignition switch could be at fault, which is a common problem
- The starter motor has failed
- Starter motor control wire could have bad connection
- If the car is not in ‘Neutral’ or ‘Park’ it will not start
- check the car battery
- if it is a manual transmission, make sure the clutch is depressed
The starter cranks normally, but the engine won't start:
- issues with fuel delivery system
- Problem with engine electronics
- Ignition system problems
- broken timing belt
- check the crank sensor or cam sensor
- check the air flow sensor and power relay switch
The car died with little fuel in the tank
- Umm, make sure that you have fuel in the tank
Low oil pressure warning light comes on while driving
- You ran out of the oil
- the oil screen is clogged in the oil pan
Black smoke from exhaust:
- You have too much gas going to the engine which most likely means there is something wrong with fuel or ignition system
- blue or white-blue smoke means you are burning oil.
